A player on your radar had a big game. Do you pick him up? This is where we decide whether their forecast is fantasy or fools gold.

Desmond Ridder QB Atlanta Falcons

329 passing yards, 1 pass YD, 4 rush, 10 rush yards, 1 rush TD

This was Ridder’s best game as a pro at a time when his team needed him to be at his best. He was efficient throughout the game and drove the Falcons down the field for the game winning field goal. Ridder is surrounded by playmakers and all he has to do is get the ball into their hands and not turn the ball over. The Falcons have a fantasy friendly game this week against the Commanders and you could do worse if your quarterback is on a bye. In the right matchups, Ridder has a chance to be fantasy gold!

Jordan Mason RB San Francisco 49ers

10 rush att, 69 rush yard, 1 rush TD

If you have RB Christian McCaffrey on your team then you need Jordan Mason on your bench! With Elijah Mitchell injured, Mason filled in as RB2 and did not disappoint. Should anything happen to McCaffrey you will want his back up on your team.

Tyjae Spears RB Tennessee Titans

7 rush, 34 rush yards, 1 rush TD, 4 rec, 35 rec yards, 12 return yards

Spears is clearly the backup RB in Tennessee behind Derrick Henry, but you still want him on your team. He has looked great running behind the Titans offensive line and has produced in limited touches. Henry has more yards behind him than almost anyone in the NFL and is at an age when many running backs start to fall apart. Spears would jump into RB1/2 status should Henry miss time. That is fantasy gold!

Josh Downs WR Indianapolis Colts

6 targets, 6 rec, 97 rec yards

The rookie out of North Carolina has impressed as the WR2 for the Indianapolis Colts so far this season. He has not been overmatched by NFL DBs and looks to be a solid target for whoever lines up behind center for the Colts this week. As teams have targeted Micahel Pittman Jr this year, Downs has made them pay. He is more of a WR4/5 at this point, but that is not bad for picking up off waivers before week 6.
