A player on your radar had a big game. Do you pick him up? This is where we decide whether their forecast is fantasy or fools gold.
De’Von Achane RB Miami Dolphins
18 rush att, 205 rush yards, 2 rush TDs, 4 targets, 4 rec, 30 rec yards, 2 rec TDs
Put in a claim for Achane now if he is in your league. The Dolphins appear to have a historically great offense this year and Achane will be a league winner. Mostert cannot stay healthy and Coach Mike McDaniels loves to get his backs in the open with the ball. Fantasy Gold priority #1!
Tank Dell WR Houston Texans
7 targets, 5 rec, 145 rec yards, 1TD
The Texans look to be ahead of the rebuild curve this past week at Jacksonville. Dell led the air attack and looked like the fastest guy on the field in the process. QB CJ Stroud has taken steps each week and Dell may be developing into his go to WR. WR Nico Collins has a history of injuries and cannot be relied upon past the upcoming week. Go grab Dell if he is available in your league, you won’t regret it! Fantasy Gold!
Adam Thielen WR Carolina Panthers
14 targets, 11 rec, 145 rec yards, 1 rec TD
Nothing to see here folks. Good for Thielen for finding some of the old magic this past week against the Seahawks, but the key word here is old. Thielen is older than half the coaches in the NFL and this is not an old man’s game. Let someone else spend some FAB or a waiver priority of the old man. It’s a young man’s game, so you need to look elsewhere. Fool’s gold.
Jerick McKinnon RB Kansas City Chiefs
2 rush att, 9 rush yards, 3 targets, 3 rec, 19 rec yards, 2 rec TDs
This is an example of an offensive player providing more value to his team than for fantasy purposes. McKinnon excels at being a receiver out of the backfield for Mahomes, but there are too many weapons on the Chiefs and McKinnon is low on that list. The reality is he is a touchdown dependent play every week and no one can predict just when he will score. He will have some nice weeks, but you do not want the volatility on your team. Fool’s gold.
