A player on your radar had a big game. Do you pick him up? This is where we decide whether their forecast is Fantasy or Fools Gold.
Mike White QB New York Jets
315 pass yards, 3 TDs, 0 INTs
Mike White looked like an NFL quarterback in this game, utilizing the playmakers on the Jets offense. Even with starting RB Michael Carter going out with an injury the Jets offense looked the best it has all year. With talented WRs in Garrett Wilson and Elijah Moore, White is set up for success if the starting job is his (and it should be until he shows otherwise). The Jets have some attractive matchups coming up against the Vikings next week and after Buffalo they play Detroit and Jacksonville. All 3 of those games should be fantasy friendly for White if he is the starter. I say White is a fill in starter those weeks unless you have a solid QB already. If you need a backup on your team then White can fill that role again IF he keeps the gig. Mike White has some fantasy gold matchups ahead.
Benny Snell Jr. RB Pittsburgh Steelers
12 carries, 62 rush yards, 1 TD
Benny Snell Jr.’s fantasy relevance is tied clearly to the health of Najee Harris and Jaylen Warren. When Harris went down with an injury this week (and Warren was already out with a hamstring), Snell looked really good as a fill-in RB. Steelers have a great RB matchup this week with the Atlanta Falcons who let the Commanders run all over them last week. Snell is a great fill in starter if those other players are out this week. Outside of that he is fools gold unless there are major injuries to Harris and Warren.
Zay Jones WR Jacksonville Jaguars
14 targets, 11 receptions, 145 rec yards
Jones has led the Jaguars in targets and receiving yards the last two weeks. The same Jaguars who had a signature win this past week off of the strong performance of QB Trevor Lawrence. Jones was a second round pick of the Bills a few years back, and he has the talent to lead the Jaguars each week. Jones and his team start a stretch of three games this week against WR fantasy friendly teams. This should be a great three weeks for Jones and the Jags offense. Grab Jones and use him as a flex if you need. He is shaping up to be fantasy gold in the short term.
Mack Hollins WR Las Vegas Raiders
5 targets, 4 receptions, 63 rec yards, 1 TD
This offense is still the the RB Josh Jacobs and WR Davante Adams show. While Hollins has emerged as a solid third option, you cannot depend on a touchdown from him every week. We also cannot expect a shootout like the Raiders had with the Seahawks last week. Let someone else waste a waiver on Hollins because he will be too inconsistent for you to rely on this season. He is squarely in the fools gold camp at this time.
