A player on your radar had a big game. Do you pick him up? This is where we decide whether their forecast is Fantasy or Fools Gold.
Cole Kmet TE Chicago Bears
6 targets, 5 receptions, 41 rec yards, 2 rec TDs
The Bears offense is easily the most improved in the NFL over the last 4 games. It was tough to trust any Bears player the first month of the season and now they are offering fantasy goodness all over the place. Kmet has been a popular sleeper TE the last 2 years but has failed to live up to those expectations. Until now. QB Justin Fields has taken major strides as a player the last month and he is dragging the rest of the team with him. If the Fields Machine can keep producing at this level then Kmet can be a low end TE1 the rest of the way. The Bears have a tasty matchup against the Detroit Lions this week and then close the season against the same Lions followed by the Vikings. Kmet has a real chance to bring some stability to your team for the rest of the season as Fantasy Gold!
Mecole Hardman WR Kansas City Chiefs
9 targets, 6 receptions, 79 rec yards, 1 rec TD
The Kansas City Chiefs offense is the gift that just keeps giving. If you missed out on fantasy stars QB Patrick Mahomes or TE Travis Kelce, there are still other helpful opportunities on this team. WR JuJu Smith-Schuster is probably taken in your league, but WR Mecole Hardman might still around. Hardman has turned into a touchdown machine the last 3 weeks with 3 receiving and 2 rushing touchdowns. He has become a redzone favorite for Mahomes and that is a good place to be in fantasy. The Chiefs offense has become more diverse without WR Tyreek Hill but just as explosive. It would be unrealistic to expect Hardman to continue his touchdown pace of the last 3 games, but he will be a regular redzone look for Mahomes, making him Fantasy Gold! If he is on your waiver then go get him!
Cade Otton TE Tampa Bay Buccaneers
6 targets, 5 receptions, 68 rec yards, 1 rec TD
QB Tom Brady loves his tight ends, just ask future Hall of Famer TE Rob Gronkowski. In the wake of TE Cameron Brate’s injury, Otton has become a reliable weapon for Brady. In favorable matchups Otton has been a popular streamer and will continue that trend until Brate returns. There is a chance that Otton remains in the rotation upon Brate rejoining the lineup. While Brate is out, keep rolling Otton out there as a low TE1 or high TE2. Once Brate is back, do not drop Otton. Give the Bucs a game to see how many times Brady looks Otton’s way. Otton is still Fools Gold as a weekly starter on your team but should remain a solid streamer while Brate is away.
