A Fantasy Zombie is a former fantasy star who has not had recent success but is back and ready to contribute to your team.

Robbie Anderson WR Carolina Panthers

Remember the late season 2017 fantasy juggernaut that was Robbie Anderson in 2017? I sure do! Where was the 2020 version of Robbie Anderson who had 95 receptions for 1096 yards and 3 touchdowns last year? Stuck on a team with Cam Newton throwing the football to him is the answer. Anderson has always been a bright spot on a poor offensive football team. However that may not be the case this year with a healthy Christian McCaffrey, D.J. Moore and an upgrade at QB in Baker Mayfield.

Anderson had a great Week 1 with 5 receptions on 8 targets for 102 yards and a touchdown. He has always been able to make a play on the deep ball and Mayfield can sling it deep with the best of them. If Mayfield can find some consistency this year then Anderson has a chance to exceed his 2020 season and be a great Fantasy Zombie find on the waiver to help your team. Do not go drop a WR1 for Anderson but if you are sitting here reading this with 3 TEs on your team in a league that only starts one? Well, you know what to do.

D.J. Chark Jr. WR Detroit Lions

Wide Receiver D.J. Chark Jr. had a breakout in year 2 for the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2019 with 73 receptions for 1008 yards and 8 touchdowns to go with a pro bowl selection. He did not come close to replicating those numbers the next two years on 2 bad Jaguars teams. Chark’s two down years are mostly due to injuries and the fact that he was playing for the Jaguars. Now Chark has signed on with the Detroit Lions, a team that will throw the football and will be playing from behind for much of the season.

In Week 1 Chark had 4 receptions on 8 targets for 52 yards and a touchdown. He was the second most targeted receiver behind Amon-Ra St. Brown in just his first game with QB Jared Goff. If Chark can stay healthy this season he has a lot to prove and is in a great situation to showcase his talents. With only a short sample size for Chark as a Lion, I am ready to label him a possible Fantasy Zombie for this season. Again if he is healthy, then Chark should have no problem replicating his 2019 production which is something we could all use on our teams.
