Reaction to Week 8: We are almost halfway done. Eight weeks down. How’s it going? You come here often? Have my sitters truly sat for you? Let’s see how I did last week. First of all, at QB, I noted to sit Kyler Murray and Trevor Lawrence. In his game, Murray had 307 yards passing, 19 yards rushing, and 2 TDs. I was wrong to sit him. Lawrence ended up with 308 yards passing, 10 yards rushing, 3 TDs, and 2 turnovers. I was wrong to sit him too. At RB, I said to sit Nick Chubb and Chase Brown. Chubb had 52 yards rushing and nothing else. I was right to sit him. Brown ended up with 32 yards rushing and a TD. That TD makes it a push here. At wide out, I said to sit Terry McLauren and Chris Olave. McLauren ended up with 125 yards receiving and nothing else. I was wrong to sit him. Olave got 107 yards receiving and nothing else. Close. Let’s call this one a push. At tight end, I said to sit Sam LaPorta and Pat Freiermuth. LaPorta ended up with 48 yards receiving and a TD. I was wrong to sit him. Freiermuth had only 19 yards receiving and nothing else, so I was right to sit him. For the team defenses, I said to sit the Falcons and the Browns. The Falcons won, gave up 26 points, along with a fumble recovery and 2 picks. I was wrong to sit them. The Browns also won, gave up 24 points, along with 3 sacks. I was wrong to sit them too. Too many wrongs don’t make a wight. Let’s get into week 9.

QB:

Derek Carr: He has the Panthers as the team to face after coming back from injury. That would be my choice too. They are bottom of the pack in all passing categories. Good match up.

Matt Stafford: He had a great game with his 2 top WRs back. Even if Nacua proves unavailable, I say he stays hot with Kupp and stats up a middle of the pack passing D in Seattle.

RB:

Brian Robinson, Jr.: He had a great game the first time he played the Giants this year. Considering this, along with the amount the Giants were just run on by Pittsburgh, the signs are there for a second showing.

De’Von Achane: Not a lot of touches per game, but he has made the most of them. Since Buffalo is better against the pass, there is a good chance he sees a few more this week against their rush D which has averaged giving up almost 5 yards a carry.

WR:

Courtland Sutton: I was almost right to start him last week, but he fumbled on me. Maybe I was just a week too early, for I will be right about him this week. He has a Ravens D that has given up the most passing yards and passing TDs so far this year. You read that right.

Michael Pittman, Jr: With Flacco back in the pocket, there will be more actual QB play and less QB running in Indy. Which means, for Pittman, more targets in general and more downfield targets too. There will be more.

TE:

Cade Otton: Take what he did last game with the 2 star wide receivers out, and combine that with the fact that Kansas City has been bottom 5 against the position, and then mix it all together for fantasy stats.

Taysom Hill: Carolina is bottom against the position, and the Saints may want to take a little load off of Carr after coming back from injury. These 2 things make the, I can do a few things good, a good option for this position.

D:

Saints: Their D has been bad. Correct. But, if you need a sub, their D may actually do well against a poor Carolina team. Plus, they may be a little more motivated with Carr back in the lineup.

Bengals: They have a Raiders team that is sluggish offensively. They do not know who their best shot at QB is. Not good. The Bengals D has been better than it used to be, and it will be good enough for the W in this game.
