Reaction to Week 6: I told you. On paper this was supposed to be a blow out, but these division games just do not follow suit. It ended up being a low scoring affair. With KC winning, holding Denver to 8 points, with a fumble recovery, 2 picks, and 4 sacks, I was very right to start the Chiefs D. Also on the Chiefs, I said to start Pacheco. He ended up with 62 yards rushing, 36 yards receiving, and no score. Numbers below average, thereby making me wrong to start him. I also said to stay away from the Denver RBs. Williams had 52 yards rushing and a 2 point conversion; McLaughlin had 30 yards rushing and 12 yards receiving, and Perine had no yards rushing, 16 yards receiving, and lost a fumble. And none of them got a TD. I was right to sit each and every one of them.
Week 7’s Thursday night game brings the Jaguars into the dome to face off against the Saints. For the Saints, I would sit Kamara. The Jags run D has done some damage against running backs the last 2 weeks, and they are in the top 5 in rushing yards allowed. And in the same breath, the Jags D has done well recently too, so I am going to double down here and ride their D in this game as a good start option. For the rest of the persons, I am not very thrilled with any of them. I feel they will either do average or below. My hunch is it will be a defensive punch out, and when that happens, beside the two Ds, the kickers have the best chance to be top dogs. So, if you have kicker needs, and you might with 6 teams having a bye this week, these 2 kickers, probably Jags kicker McManus more so, are good options this week.
