Reaction to Week 6: Sittin’ time. You don’t have to go home, but you can’t play here. Yeah. Let’s see how things were prognosticated for last week. For QB, I said to sit Jared Goff and Brock Purdy. Purdy had 125 yards passing, a TD and a pick. I was right to sit him against the Browns. Goff had 353 yards and 2 TDs. Um, where did this come from? I was wrong to sit him. Regarding the RBs, I said to sit Breece Hall and Jerome Ford. Ford had 84 yards rushing and 7 yards receiving with no score. Not quite there; I was right to sit him. Hall had 39 yards rushing, 54 yards receiving and a TD. I was not right to sit him. For the WRs, I said to sit Kenan Allen and Nico Collins. Collins had 80 yards receiving and no score. I was right to sit him. Allen had 85 yards and a score. I was wrong to sit him. For the TEs, I said to sit Darren Waller and Kyle Pitts. Pitts got 43 yards but actually got a score, so I was wrong to sit him. Waller also had 43 yards receiving too, but he did not get a score, so I was right to sit him. On the team defenses, I said to sit the Browns and the Jets. I was wrong to sit the Browns. They got the W, held San Fran to 17 points and had 3 sacks with a pick. The Jets, on the other hand, also got the W, held Philly to 14 points, had 3 picks, 2 sacks, and a fumble recovery. Wrong. Very wrong. Let’s see if I can do better for week 7.
Week 7:
QB:
Jared Goff: Let’s try this again. If you have options, I would sit him this week against the Ravens. A team that has given up the 3rd fewest amount of passing yards and are tied for the least amount of passing TDs so far this year.
Russell Wilson: Hope you don’t need him on this weekend of byes. He has the Packers, a team that has given up the 2nd least amount of passing yards and are top 5 in least amount of passing TDs allowed.
RB:
Cardinal running backs: Whoever you got from this team, bench em. The Seahawks are top 5 in least yards allowed and are #1 in least yards per carry so far.
Cots running backs: Whichever you got from this team, bench them too. The Browns are top 3 in yards allowed and top 3 in yards per carry. Not a good matchup for this squad either.
WR:
Michael Pittman: Like the Colts running backs, I would bench him too. The Browns have also given up the least amount of passing yards, so, well, no thanks.
K. J. Osborne: I tried last week to start him. I have learned my lesson and will bench him this one. He did not do remarkable in Jefferson’s role against a vulnerable D last week. What makes me think he will do better against San Fran this week?
TE:
Sam LaPorta: If you happen to have other options, you might want to use. If not, temper your expectations. He is going up against the Ravens, the team arguably #1 against the position so far this year.
Evan Engram: He has a dinged up QB and is going up against a top 3 team in passing yards allowed against the position.
Defense:
Cards: Their D has been pretty good so far, but they have to go to Seattle who can still light it up. Not a favorable matchup.
Steelers: Away on the West coast against a viable passing attack in LA. If the Rams line can block Watt, this D will be having a long day.
