Reaction to Week 5: I thought I might jinx this game to be a low scoring one, since I presumed it to be high scoring previously denoting not to play either team’s defense. Well, the Commanders gave up 40 points, got the L, had 3 sacks and nothing else. They got the memo; I was right to sit them. On the other side, the Bears gave up 20 points, got the W, had 5 sacks, a pick, and a fumble recovery. They did not get the memo; I was wrong to sit them. After Chicago went up big early, Washington decided to abandon, almost completely, their running game, making me wrong to start Robinson. But as wrong as I was about Robinson, I was more right about D. J. “Go Terps” Moore. 230 yards and 3 touchdowns – oh yeah, I was extra right on this one.
The sixth Thursday night game of the year has the Broncos in Arrowhead against the mighty Chiefs. Let’s start off with the fact this is a division game, so while it should be a blowout, it will probably be closer than it should. On who to possibly start, let’s go with KC running back Isiah Pacheco. The Broncos just gave up some serious yardage to Breece Hall and are dead last in the league in most rushing defense categories. And if you have the KC defense, and they are not a regular starter for you, unless your other option is tremendous, this is a good match up for them. On who to sit, most of the options are obvious, but I think Denver will have to throw a lot, so let’s sit all of Denver’s RBs – Jaleel McLaughlin, Javonte Williams, and Samaje Perine. This might be a committee game and, with Sean Payton, you just never know.
