Reaction to Week 5: Week 5 is now complete. The season is flying by and so are the injuries. I hope my starters or subs for the regulars this past weekend did well. Let’s see. First of all, at QB, I said to start Joe Flacco and Trevor Lawrence in their game. Flacco had 359 yards passing, 22 yards rushing, 3 TDs, and one turnover, while Lawrence had 371 yards passing, 2 TDs, and also 1 turnover. I was right to start them both. At RB, I said to start D’Andre Swift and Najee Harris. Swift ended up with 73 yards rushing, 47 yards receiving, and a TD. I was right to start him. Harris, meanwhile, had 42 yards rushing, 35 yards receiving, and nothing else. I was wrong about him. At wide out, I said to start Amari Cooper and Tutu Atwell. Cooper had 60 yards receiving and nothing else, while Atwell had 58 yards receiving and also nothing else. I was wrong to start both of them. At tight end, I said to start Tucker Kraft and Cole Kmet. Tucker had 88 yards receiving and 2 TDs. I was right to start him. Kmet ended up with 57 yards and nothing else. This is actually over what was projected for him, so I was right about him too. For the team defenses, I said to start the Dolphins and the Packers. The Dolphins got their W, held the Pats to 10 points, and had 2 sacks. I was right to start them. The Packers also got their W, held the Rams to 19 points, along with a fumble recovery, 3 sacks, and a pick. I was right to start them too. Alright, now that we have laid that out, let’s see what’s in store for you for week 6.
QB:
Daniel Jones: I know, right? I feel funny typing this, but he has had 3 solid games and this week he has a Cincy D that is not good. If you are in a pinch, why not?
Justin Fields: He is now fighting for his job with Russell Wilson officially being healthy. He has a plus matchup against the Raiders, so he has a good chance of extending his starter status at least another week.
RB:
Breece Hall: I have been right to sit him the past couple of weeks, but he is going up against a bottom 3 rush D in Buffalo this week. Time to put him back in the line-up.
Bucky Irving: There will probably be no White this week to split carries with. Even with a pretty good rush D in New Orleans, I would not be afraid to start him, especially with no White combined with the fact that he has been the better of the 2 backs anyway.
WR:
Terry McLaurin: The Ravens have given up some serious amount of yards in the air. And as the only trusted wideout in Washington for Daniels, there is a good chance he will light it up this week.
Jayden Reed: He does well with Love. Love does well with Love. Love and Reed do well together. Love will Love Reed.
TE:
Tucker Kraft: Awesome game last week. His targets have jumped with Love back in the lineup. Ride the hot hand here in Green Bay too.
Cade Otton: Multiple tight ends did well against the Saints last week, who are a bottom 10 team against the position. A good matchup for him in what could be a slugfest.
D:
Texans: They draw the matchup this week against the lowly Pats. Even with the rookie getting the start, this is a good matchup for the Texans D.
Broncos: Call it a hunch, but a rested Chargers offense with 2 weeks to prepare gives San Diego, I mean Los Angeles a chance to steal this one against a top tier D.
