Reaction to Week 5: Alright, I wonder how my starter suggestions panned out. I guess there is only one way to find out. I mean there is more than one way, but this is the easiest way. Here we go. For the QBs, I said to start Matt Stafford and Zach Wilson. Stafford had 222 yards passing and 2 TDs. His numbers are slightly above average, thereby making me right to start him. Zach had 199 yards passing, 26 yards rushing, with no TDs and a pick. Not even close; I was wrong to start him. On the ground game, I said to send forth James Conner and both Mostert and Achane. Conner got hurt early, so no one wins and everyone loses when that happens – a push there. Meanwhile, Mostert had 65 yards rushing, 13 yards receiving, and a score, and Achane had 151 yards rushing, 14 yards receiving, and a score. Spot on; I was right to start both of them. For the wide outers, I said to start Garrett Wilson and DeAndre Hopkins. Wilson had 54 yards and no score. Like his battery mate, I was wrong to start him. Hopkins also did not have a score, but he racked up 140 receiving yards. Enough to put him over the top making me right to start him. For the tight outers, I said to start the 2 Tylers – Conklin and Higbee. Higbee had 20 yards and no score, and Conklin had 67 yards and no score. Foiled me again you 2. I will get you next time! For the stoppers, I said to start the Cards and Texans defenses. The Cards lost, gave up 34 points, had 3 sacks and a pick. Not good enough; I was wrong to start them. The Texans also lost, gave up 21 points, and recovered 2 fumbles. Also not good enough, making me wrong to start them too. Let’s see what is on the plate for week 6. Hopefully, I will do better.

Week 6:

QB:

Gardner Minshew: You in a bind this week? Here’s your Hail Mary. The Jags are bottom 5 in passing yards allowed and in sacks obtained. This could be a shoot out.

Desmond Ridder: The Commanders just let Justin Fields light them up. Lots of teams have lit them up. Good game for him to throw out some stats.

RB:

James Cook: The Giants are toward the bottom in all defensive rushing categories. Add that to the fact the Bills could go up big early, which would mean, yep, lots of rushing attempts.

Raheem Mostert: With Achane out, he should do well against a Panthers D that is tied for most rushing TDs allowed and are botttom 5 in yards per carry. Like Cook, his team could go up big early giving him even more opportunities to run.

WR:

K. J. Osborn: With the Bears at the bottom of the league in passing yards allowed and next to last in TDs allowed, I am all in on him performing in place of Jefferson.

Drake London: D. J. Moore just lit up the Commanders. If London can’t swell in this game, he won’t swell any this season.

TE:

Dallas Goedert: He had a good game this past week, and he has the Jets this week, a team at the bottom against his position.

Zach Ertz: The former Philly tight end has the Rams this week, a team who just gave up over 100 yards to the position. This is a plus match up for him too.

Defense:

Dolphins: Not usually a D you trust to play each and every week, but this week they have a plus match up against an offensive offense in Carolina.

Eagles: They have not been a weekly starter like we are used to from this bunch, but this week they have a good match up against a lackluster offense in the Jets, a team that is better running than passing, which is what the Eagles D has been better at defending so far this year.
