Before we get into Week 6’s Starters, let’s see what I got right and what I got wrong with the starters from week 5.
QB: If I would have included Taysom Hill in my list of Saints QBs, I would have been right. But I didn’t, so I was wrong. The Red Rider didn’t do much. Even though his team lost and he had the one INT, Wentz had over 350 yards with 2 TDS. That is better than average, which makes me better than average, so I was right. Regarding Carr, well he was about average so let’s make that one a push. Everyone gets a vote here.
RB: Even though there were points galore, I was wrong about Singletary. I guess when you can light things up through the air, who needs the ground. I was also wrong about James Robinson. Where was he? Regarding Harris and Stevenson, well, I guess I was right about Stevenson, but wrong about Harris. I guess there can only be one Chubb/Hunt? Or can there?
WR: I was right about Olave and would have been more right had he not gotten hurt. I was also right about putting Cooper back in your squad: 76 yards and a TD – solid. However, as I have tried in the past, I still cannot help Robert Woods be a starter, even though he was playing against one of the worst pass defenses in the league. You probably should just keep him on the bench for the rest of the year. No wait, cut him and pick up somebody else. Somebody who gives a darn. Somebody more like myself. These . .
TE: So, Knox ended up not playing. I hope you knew that and put in a sub. If you didn’t, shame on you. Is this considered a push? I mean, technically I was wrong to say to play somebody who ended not playing. Ok, I’ll take it. It appears that fantasy folklore still has some power of keeping the universe balanced, and I was wrong for you to go against it and play Hockenson. My bad, boo. And on Ertz, no TDS and slightly below average on yards, makes me wrong. He wasn’t a total bust, nor a boom. He was more like a fizzle.
D: Vikings D got the win, 2 sacks and a fumble recovery. That means I was right, in case you were keeping score. Bucs got the win and 5 sacks. That also scores me as right. What doesn’t score me as right, that’s right, you guessed it, the Jags D. How do you play crappy against Houston, but well against the Chargers? Snip Snap. Snip Snap. Snip Snap. We can only take so much of this.
It’s Bye Week Season! Time to figure who is left and available to possibly put in your starting lineup for this week.
QB:
If you have not read the Sitters article yet, SPOILER ALERT – SPOILER ALERT, you may want read it first because I said to bench the Steelers D against a QB who has owned them: Brady. If he is not a regular starter for you, then this week would be a good one to play him.
Kirk Cousins is in and out, in and out, and in and out of these lists it feels like. He is back on the starter list since the Dolphins are better against the run than the pass.
Have you given up and benched Kyler Murray? You probably have to play him on a bye week. If not, don’t be afraid to play him this week against Seattle; it might be his best one so far this year.
RB:
Double up – Ugh. Ugh. (This is not a new thing if you have read this week’s sitters. Go read it.) This double up can be found in Arizona. James Conner has been poor at best, definitely not what was expected. He should be a solid play this week.
Stevenson may be taking over in New England, and he should have another solid week with a plus match-up against the Browns who are better against the pass than the run.
Kenneth Walker: Was that one run against the Saints a taste of what’s to come? WIth Penny hurt—this was expected for that is why they drafted Walker, duh, it is now Walker’s time to shine. And he has a chance to start off strong against a Cards D that has been below average.
WR:
I say the Dolphins try to bottlenose Jefferson, thereby leaving Thielin open and available to shine. (Did you get the joke? Good on ya.)
I have been complaining about the Chiefs WRs, not knowing who to count on. If you need a WR for this first bye week and MVS is available, I think I would trust him to do more with less. If PPR, then maybe Ju Ju since he usually gets more targets.
If Hollywood Brown is not in your starting line-up, you might want to reconsider. If not, then he should be starting for somebody on a bye week. He has been very consistent so far, and he is going up against Seattle, whose defense has been, how do I say it, bad.
TE:
Dissly or Fant? Fant or Dissly? Fant has the yard possibility and Dissly the TD one. If either are an option, and you need a tight end for this week, either or both may shine against the Cards.
It is bye week time and some of you may have to scrape the bottom of the barrell and cross your fingers. (Knock Knock. Who is there? Irv smith, Jr.)
Then there is the Swiss army knife, Taysom Hill. There are just so many ways he can possibly get you points. He is worth the play if listed as TE in your league.
D:
Time to play the Rams D again. They are up against Carolina, or should i just say they are going up against McCaffrey?
Since the Bears have retained the slap and tickle belt, it is pretty safe to play the D that goes up against them. This week, it is Washington. Not a bad option if your D is on a bye.
Then there is the Colts. They have been good, and they are going up against a Jags team that has not been good of recent. They may be a starting D for you anyway, but if not, they are also a good option to sub in.
