Reaction to Week 5: Alright, let’s get right into it. How did i do on whom to sit this past week? On the throwers, I said to sit Brock Purdy and Trevor Lawrence. Purdy had 252 yards with 4 TDs. Um, no comment. Lawrence had 315 yards passing, 31 yards rushing, and 1 TD. That is about average, so a push here. For the runners, I said to sit Miles Sanders and Zach Moss. Moss had 165 yards rushing, 30 yards receiving, and 2 scores. I said, no comment! Sanders had 32 yards and a fumble with no score. That’s more like it. I was right to sit him. For the catchers, I said to sit Drake London and the Steelers WRs. Well, London had 78 yards receiving with no score, so i was right to sit him. For the Steelers, Pickens ended up with 130 yards receiving with a TD, but the rest of the squad did squat, diddly that is. So, a push on the Steelers’ receivers. For the other catchers, I said to sit George Kittle and Evan Engram. Kittle had 67 yards and 3 TDs. Get out of my face, I said no comment!! Engram, on the other hand, had 28 yards receiving and no score; i was right to sit him. For the defenses, I said to sit the Jaguars and the Cowboys. The Jags got the W, gave up 20 points, had a pick and a fumble recovery. I was wrong to sit them. Meanwhile, the Cowpokes got the L, gave up 42 points, had a sack and a fumble recovery. I am quite happy I was right to sit them. Alright, now let’s see what week 6 has in store for us.
Week 6:
QB:
Brock Purdy: Let’s try this one again. Yes, he did well against a good Cowboys D, but can he do well against an ever better Browns D? Maybe, but with the Browns offense reeling, I do not think much will be needed from him this game.
Jared Goff: He has Tampa, who is in the top 5 in yards against and have more INTs than TDs allowed so far this year. Not a good match up for him.
RB:
Breece Hall: Back to life. Back to Reality. Eagles are #2 in yards allowed on the ground and near the top in all other rushing defensive categories. Enough said.
Jerome Ford: San Fran’s D is good. They are better against the rush – top 3 in yards allowed and only 2 rushing TDs allowed so far this year.
WR:
Kenan Allen: This looks like a game where the Cowboys will double and triple team him and make Herbert look to other guys to beat them in the air. Yep, it has the bad feels.
Nico Collins: The Saints are top 5 in yards and TDs allowed against the pass so far this year. Not a good match up this week for him.
TE:
Darren Waller: His numbers are getting better, and he had a solid game this past week, but this week he has the problem of no Daniel Jones and the Bills defense. Assuming he plays, he will be going up against a defense that is at the top of the league against the position.
Kyle Pitts: Another one who will come back to life? Back to reality? Washington is top 3 against tight ends so far this year. So, yeah.
Defense:
Browns: Their D is good, but their offense, especially without Watson – again – is not, and will not be, even more so against San Fran’s offense. They will probably keep it close for awhile, but being on the field most of the game, they will eventually wane.
Jets: Like Cleveland, they have a good D, but I just do not see their offense being about to keep up with the competition, the Eagles for them. LIke the Browns, their D will be on the field too long and will ultimately fade toward the end.
