Reaction to Week 4: Let’s see if I helped you to victory and picked the right starters for week 4. For QBs, I said to start Daniel Jones and Russell Wilson. On the latter, he had 223 yards passing, 13 yards rushing, and 3 TDs. I was right to start him. On the former, he had no chance to make me right. His line was bad, and he was trigger happy. The stats are gross, and i was quite wrong with him. For the runners, I said to start Najee Harris and Dameon Pierce. Harris had 71 yards rushing, 32 yards receiving, and led the team in both categories, which is not saying much. Considering this total and no TD to go with it, i was wrong to start him. Meanwhile, Pierce had 81 yards rushing, 27 yards receiving, and also did not score. Just under average like Harris so i was wrong to start him too. For the receivers, I said to start Nico Collins and Adam Thielen. Nico made me right with is 168 yards receiving and 2 scores, but Thielen came up just short with only 76 yards receiving and no score making me wrong he would come up big against his former squad. For the other receivers, I said to start Gerald Everett and Logan Thomas. Thomas had 41 yards and no score and Everett had 9 yards with no score. I was wrong to start both of them. For the defenses, I said to start the Vikings and the Chiefs. The Vikes got the W, held the Panthers to 13 points, recovered a fumble, and had 5 sacks. The Chiefs also got a W; they held the Jets to 20 points, and had a fumble recovery and 2 sacks. I was right to start both of these defenses.
Let’s now see what week 5 brings us.
QB:
Matt Stafford: Philly is bottom 10 in passing yards allowed, has given up the 3rd most passing TDs, and has only 2 picks so far this year. Good match up. Even better if Kupp plays.
Zach Wilson: If you are desperate, this week’s Hail Mary comes here. He has Denver, a team that has given up the most passing TDs and 2nd most passing yards so far this year.
RB:
James Conner: We benched him last week and were right. Let’s move him back to the starting line-up for he has the Bengals, a team that is next to last in the league in rushing yards allowed and 2nd to last in ypc.
Mostert and Achane: Yes. Both. The Giants are bottom 10 in yards allowed and tied for most rushing TDs allowed. Both run and both catch, so the opportunities will be there for both.
WR:
Garrett Wilson: See note on Zach Wilson. Really. Just read that note for it works here too.
DeAndre Hopkins: The Cots have given up the 4th most passing yards so far this year. While they have not given up many TDs, i feel they are due and he is due, for his first one of the year. There will be opportunities for this to happen.
TE:
Tyler Higbee: As previously noted, Philly is at the bottom of the league in passing. Even more so against tight ends vs receivers. A good match up here.
Tyler Conklin: Don’t call me the other Tyler, Tyler, also has a pro matchup as previously denoted as related to his QB and WR. He will also get his first score of the year. (P. S. I feel icky telling you to play 3 Jets. Just doesn’t seem right.)
Defense:
Texans: They just held Pitt down and have an Atlanta team that does not exactly tear up the scoreboard. They are a solid play this week.
Cards: Until the Bengals show us they are back on the octane, teams that play against them are good plays. The Cards have been better than expected. They should be able to hold their own this week against the kitty cats.
