Before we get into Week 5’s Sitters, let’s see what i got right and what i got wrong with the sitters from week 4.
QB: I say i was right about sitting Cousins: less than 300 yards, with 1 TD and 1 int. Slightly below average, so there, take that. I was also right about Stafford, again. He was absent against San Fran. Then, there was Trevo. I was spot on here. He had 174 yards passing with 5 turnovers. What a display of sickness. Rights all around the town here.
RB: I told you to put Akers back on the bench, and i was right (says me in a sing songy voice.) What did I tell you about James Robinson? Did you listen to me? Worst game of the year – Nailed it! And what is the opposite of nailed it? Is it screwed it? Because that is what I did as related to Sanders. He performed well.
WR: Kirk had his worst game of the year. I was right to say to sit him this past week. Then there are the Bears and Giants WRS. I couldn’t be more right about these people. I say i was mostly right about the mostly dead Bears WRS, even with Mooney’s 94 yards, because no other Bears WR got more than 9 yards and no TDS. And i was very right about the Giants WRs because their top WR only had 11 yards. How is that even possible?
TE: Considering the expected output by this group, i was wrong all over here. Higbee and Freiermuth had the yards and Ertz had a TD.
D: Ravens D got low yards but did not win or have much “extra” D stats, so i say i was right to sit them. I was right about sitting the Jags too. They did not win and not much “extra” D stats for them either. Then there is Seattle who got their win, but gave up a bunch of stats and yards, but not much “extra.” I think this could be a push, but since this is my article, not yours, I say their victory put them over the edge giving me the win. Boo yah.
With that out of the way, let’s get into this week’s games and who you should, maybe consider not starting or benching this week
QB:
Pew. Pew. Pew. I am coming out guns a blazin and telling you to sit Kyler Murray. Philly’s D has shown up and Murray has not so far this year. Did I just jinx them? Double jinx.
Then there is Stafford. Good ole bench boy Stafford. Dallas has a legit D and the super bowl champs O is more illegitimate than not these days.
How about we talk about Baker Mayfield for a second? Is there anybody out there taking crazy pills and playing this guy? Just in case, do not start him against San Fran this week. Actually, it is safe to say, do not start him, like ever.
RB:
Like his counterpart, you can bench James Conner this week against Philly
Let me do another double up and tell you to keep Akers on the bench with Stafford too. I guess i must say that I realize I bench the Rams offensive players a lot so far this year. I am not a Rams hater. They have just been going up against some good defenses, and their offense, well, at this point is not as stellar as it was last year. Is it them or the defenses? Time will tell. Oh yes, time will definitely tell.
I have told you about sitting Ravens RBS, let me be a little clearer this week. Bench J. K. Rowling, I mean Dobbins. Do not drink the Kool-aid from last week’s party. Cincy will put him back where he belongs.
WR:
Speaking of drinking the Kool-aid. Do not drink Allen Lazard’s either. I am not yet convinced last week was not an anomaly.
It looks like you can put D. J. Moore back on your bench, especially this week against San Fran. It seems the hype has been strong with this one.
KC WRs: Time for me to harp on these guys again. Can one of you just step up? I do not care which one, but come on now.
TE:
No Mo for me this week. Allie-Cox had a game this past week, but the Broncos are better against TEs so far this year. Put him back on the bench.
Dissly has been a touchdown dependent guy, but he is going up against a Saints D that has held TEs so far this year. Find someone else.
Higbee has been a solid yard getter so far this year, but he is going up against a solid D in Dallas who also has done well against TEs. Find someone else here too.
D:
Steelers: They just aren’t the same without Watt. What? I said Watt. What? Anyway, the Bills offense is, well you know, good. This has a chance not to be very pretty for the Yinzers.
Saints: Geno and the green birds have done well on the O side of the ball, while the Saints O has not done well. This, unfortunately, will give the birds ample opportunities to do some damage.
Giants: They have been good so far, finally helping the team relinquish the slap and tickle belt to the Bears this past week. But, this week, I believe Rodgers, like Stella, will get his groove back.
