Before we get into Week 4’s Starters, let’s see what i got right and what i got wrong with the starters from week 3.
QB: None of them were spectacular. Cousins got me the closest, but he was barely above average. None of them were horrible, Jones the closest. I will take a push all around here.
RB: I guess it wasn’t heartburn and my gut was right about Akers. I was right about Pierce and spot on about him getting his first TD of the year. Then there is Pacheco. I was way off and so was everybody else about the outcome of this game too, so at least there is that.
WR: I was right about Thielen and mostly about London. While he didn’t get 100 yards, he still got a TD. I was also right about Mooney having his best game of the year so far. I mean it was still a horrible game, but still, he was better so i was right. HA!
TE: Hockenson got a TD and Higbee got the yards, so two rights. Then there is Thomas, which was way off. Two rights beat one wrong.
D: Raiders D – nope not there. Chargers D – what D? Cowboys/Giants tickle match – I was right about playing the Cowpokes, but I guess the Giants wanted to retain their belt. Guess they were in no Rush to be any better. Did you see what i just did there?
With that out of the way, let’s get into this week’s games and who you should roll the dice with.
QB:
Carr has not been good. Broncos D has been good. Raiders are 0-3. Broncos are 2-1. I hope you have a napkin because it’s hunchtime. All the signs so no, but I say go with Carr. He will play well and Raiders get their first win.
It appears that i am still hungry. This time I am hungry for some fish and chips with some Cajun seasoning. Yes, I went there. Winston will have his best game so far. It will take playing in London to do it. Those games count, right? UPDATE (9/30/22): Looks like Winston will not be playing Sunday, which means the Red Rocket will come out and play. Dare I? Should I? Why not? I think he will do well, maybe not super, but better than average. If you need to, feel free to roll the dice with him.
Finally, have any of you actually benched Burrow because he has not lit up the league this year? If so, put him back in your line-up. The Dolphins may be undefeated, but they give up some stats to QBs.
RB:
Speaking of a highly ranked player that some of you may have benched, Austin Ekeler. This will be his best game of the year. Keep him in there.
Hall/Carter: The Steelers are still susceptible to the run. If you have one of these guys, there is a 50% chance you have the guy that does well.
Rashaad Penny is getting the touches over Walker. Detroit has also been susceptible to the run. Feel confident to start him.
WR:
Some of you have benched the highly ranked Gabe Davis already too, but you should put him back in your line-up. The Ravens secondary has given up some serious passing yards so far this year.
Speaking of giving up passing yards, you are playing Burrow so make sure you also play the Bengals wide receivers not named Chase. And in case you are wondering, their names are Higgins and Boyd. At least one of them will get over a 100 yards and a TD. Guess which one?
And speaking of highly ranked players who have not done so much this year, there is D. J. Moore. Play him this week. He is going against the Arizona D who has not been good. His time to show up is now.
TE:
Mike Gesicki will fluctuate from start to sit the whole year. This week – it is start time.
Pittsburgh still gives up big plays to tight ends. Conklin has been good this year and should do well this week again too.
After a goose egg this past week, I say Juwan Johnson rises from the sea and brings vengeance upon the Vikings. Where is that napkin?
D:
Jets: Trubisky is still the starting QB in Pittsburgh, right? Yeah. Okay. Play the Jets D.
Chargers: They looked bad last week, almost as if they also had gotten fractured rib cartilage too. I expect a much better game from them this week against Houston.
And our slap tickle match of the week is the Giants vs the Bears. Both are equally inept. Will the Giants maintain their stranglehold on the belt, or will the Bears show they are more dismal than the Giants? I am so not excited for this game.
