Reaction to Week 2: He said Kirk Cousins may not be a bad option against the Eagles. 364 yards and 4 TDs later, he sits back and smiles. And he also said to bench Mattison, who had 28 yards rushing, 11 receiving, with no TD and a lost fumble. He smiles bigger. He also said to bench Goedert, who had 22 yards receiving and no score, which makes him get up, pop his back, and open his mouth to speak. However, before he can utter a single word regarding his rightness, humility comes knocking on the door in the form of D’Andre Swift. As Swift enters the room, he mightily carries 175 yards rushing and 1 TD. When the man sees him, he purses his lips, then sits back down without a word to say.
Our 3rd Thursday night game of the year pits the 49ers against the Giants. This one reads like a blowout, even though the Giants pulled one out on the road this past week. Originally, I was going to say to bench Barkley, but it looks like his body was like, no thanks. We don’t want to play against the 9ers. With that, do not be that person and pick up Matt Breida and expect him to shine. I was prepared to tell you to bench Barkley against them, so benching Breida, duh. If Kittle is not a regular starter for you, consider playing him this week. With Aiyuk hurt, Kittle should get more looks this week against a vulnerable Giants D who gave up 88 yards passing to tight ends last week. Finally, while the 9ers D is more susceptible to the pass than the run, they are better against tight ends than wide outs. With that being noted, look for them to shut down Waller and make the Giants wideouts actually make their names known. The rest of who should start and should sit in this game should be obvious. Duh.
