Before we get into Week 3’s Starters, let’s see what i got right and what i got wrong with the starters from week 2.
QB: Let me start with Trey Lance. Poor guy – nobody won here. On the opposite side of that, how right was i about Tua. Dat dude tore it up. I hope you listened to me. Then there is Carr – neither good, nor bad. He wasn’t bad; he just should have been better.
RB: And then there are these guys. I was wrong all over the place. And in case you were wondering, not only can the Browns not always feed two running backs, they also can’t keep a 13 point lead with 1:55 left to go. Burn.
WR: Mike Williams – I said early and often and that is exactly what happened. And as right as i was about Williams, i was wrong about Landry, who, apparently, is not so dependable all the time. And then there is Crooks, who is the team’s number 1, but as we are learning, that doesn’t seem to mean too much being in Houston.
TE: I was right about Waller, and since just getting some yards is a plus with this group, I say Everett – check and Higbee – check. You’re welcome.
D: I was so right about the slap and tickle fight between the Panthers and Giants. Gross. I was mostly right about Pittsburgh, but they had no sacks and lost the game, so i see your argument that this was a wrong. And the Rams, I was right, right there too – victory, 2 int, 1 fumble recovery, and 3 sacks.
With that out of the way, let’s get into this week’s games and who you should roll the dice with.
QB:
Matt Stafford: I have been harping on him, but he should have his first solid game of the year.
Mac Jones: Flacco threw for over 300 and Tua for almost 500 against the Ravens. Unless the Ravens defense decides to wake up this week, Jones should have some stats.
Kirk Cousins: He looked bad, real bad against Philly. I expect a 180 against the Lions.
RB:
Isaiah Pacheco: This should be a blow out. He should get plenty of touches, especially in the 2nd half.
Dameon Pierce: We saw some life last week. The Bears offense is not good, which means more plays for the Texans, which means, you guessed it, there should be more touches for Pierce, thus more opportunities. I say he gets his first TD of the year this week.
Cam Akers: Am i crazy putting him here? A little bit. I just have that feeling, or maybe it’s heartburn.
WR:
Adam Thielen: Did we see his resurgence in the 2nd half of last week’s game? Maybe, but he is going against the Lions who have given up some passing yards so far this season. Not out of the realm of him and Jefferson both topping a 100 yards.
Drake London: You sold yet? His first two games have been solid. I expect his first 100 yard game and a TD to boot.
Darnell Mooney: I am saying this is his best game yet. I’m not saying he will be lights out, just better than what he has been, probably between 50 and 75 yards with a possible TD.
TE:
T.J. Hockenson: If you have been afraid to play him, don’t be this week. The Vikes have been susceptible to this position.
Tyler Higbee: The Cards have given up stats to TEs too. Feel confident to keep playing him.
Logan Thomas: Is he back? You playing him yet? There is a good chance the Washington WRs get shut down by the Philly D, which means the underneath stuff to Thomas could be there, especially if you are in a PPR league.
D:
Cowboys/Giants: Both. This is the next and “greatest” slap and tickle fight of the year. The Cowboys will be going for the Giants championship belt of mediocrity.
Raiders: Tennessee has been the proverbial dumpster fire. Raiders should keep them in their place again this week.
Charges: Jacksonville is not a robust offense and the Chargers D is better than last year. I expect them to make Trev uncomfortable and cause a few turnovers and sacks too.
