Reaction to Week 1: Not starting off too well here. Of the 4 QBs I would have benched, I said Love would have been the best bet. Well, he was slightly above projected, and Mahomes ended up being the lowest of the four. I was wrong here. Of the 4 RBs, I said I would mostly likely sit Jacobs. He was below projected, and he was the worst of the 4 too, so I was right to sit him. That’s more like it. Of the WRs, I said I would most likely sit Flowers and Rice. Flowers did poorly, while Rice was just over projected, so a push here. Finally, I said all 4 kickers would be a good play. Since all 4 scored over their projected totals, I was right for all 4. Not the worst start to the season.
Week 2 only has 1 early game, the Bills vs the Dolphins this Thursday night. Let me begin with James Cook. I was wrong to start him last week, but I will not be denied this time. He will get the touches, and based on what the Jags gave up against Miami last week, I say he will get the yards again, and this time Allen will share in the rushing TD category. Based on last week, along with what opposing teams did against the tight end position last week, I would bench both team’s tight ends, Dawson Knox and Jonnu Smith. Finally, the Bills have won 11 of the last 12 meetings with the Dolphins. Considering this, and an expectation of a high scoring affair, I would, even though they did well against the Jags, bench the Dolphins D.
