Okay, Week 1 is behind us, so let’s see how I did to start the year. I told you Carr should be good. He had over 300 yards with a TD and a pick. Not exactly what I thought, a little below average, so i was wrong. I also told you to ride Geno, and I was more wrong here. 112 yards with a TD; what happened? Speaking of Seattle, I also told you to roll with Walker. While he was the clear lead back, his 64 yards and no TDs put him below average too, thereby making me wrong to start him. The other RB I told you to ride with was Travis Etienne. With 77 yards rushing and 27 receiving with a TD, i was right to start him. Finally! On the WR side, I told you to stay in Jacksonville and start Captain Kirk. Back to being wrong since he had a solid 9 yards receiving for the day. Maybe Ridley is back and better than ever baby! The other wide out, Diontae Johnson, was arguably well on his way to at least some garbage stats, but alas, the injury bug struck. So, again, I am back to my losing ways. Speaking of being wrong, I also said to start Irv Smith and Juwan Johnson at TE. Well, Smith took a seat this game, and Johnson had a few more yards with no TD, thereby making me wrong to start both of them. On the other side of the ball, I said to start Seattle and Washington’s defenses. I was wrong about Seattle who got smoked by the Rams, however, the Commanders helped me save a little face with their win, holding the Cards to 16 points, 3 sacks and 2 forced fumbles. Hopefully i will do better with this 2nd week of games. Here is what i got.
QB:
Ryan Tannehill – The Chargers gave up over 450 yards in the air to the Dolphins. If in a bind this week, not a bad option.
Geno Smith – Not a good first game and week 2 is against the Lions who did well against the Chiefs are not good signs to start. I say scratch that and look for a bounce back game.
RB:
Rhamondre Stevenson – He is going up against the Dolphins who gave up some serious collective yards on the ground last week. I have him as my #2 back of the week.
Joshua Kelly – Speaking of guys who did well against the Dolphins last week. With Ekeler looking as a no go and Kelly looking good as a back up in week 1, he is a good play as the starter this week.
WR:
Mike Williams – Let’s keep it on the Chargers. Since Allen had the better wideout stats in game one, i say they get the ball to Williams, early and often, to get him going.
Kadarius Toney – Call it a hunch, but after such a poor game, I feel the Chiefs and Mahomes are going to try to set him up to do well this week against the Jags.
TE:
David Njoku – If my memory serves me well, he does well against the Steelers. Play him here.
Chigoziem Okonkwo – He got shut out by the Saints, but this week he has the Chargers, a team not as prolific against the pass as earlier denoted. Another bounce backer.
Defense:
New York Giants – Speaking of bounce back games. I am not sure they are as bad as last week’s game, and they have the Cards and their less than stellar offense this week.
Cleveland Browns – They just shut down Burrow and the Bengals, and this week they have a Steelers team that did not do well against the 9 ers. This equals a play game.
