Before we get into Week 2’s Starters, let’s see what i got right and what i got wrong with the starters from week 1.
QB: All were good, but none lit it up. So, a push I guess.
RB: Wrong about Pierce and Etienne (thanks for showing up James Robinson) and Gibson was solid, but a TD from him would have been nice though.
WR: Right about St. Brown and Thomas (thanks to the 4th quarter), but nowhere near right about Woods.
TE: Wrong about Kmet, but right about Shultz and Freiermuth, but again a TD would have been nice from them.
D: Kind of the middle here with the Eagles. They gave up the points, but had a sack and a pick 6. The Ravens bend no break D with a fumble recovery, int, and 3 sacks make me right. Then there is the Titans who had 5 sacks, an int, and a fumble recovery but blew away the lead. Another push here too.
With that out of the way, let’s get into this week’s games.
QB:
Derek Carr: He had his moments in week 1, but he is going against the Cardinals who just got lit up this past week.
Trey Lance: He will have better weather conditions this week and is going against the Seahawks who gave up some stats this past week.
Tua: Ravens just gave up 300 yards to Joe Flacco. Tua should be able to do the same, if not better.
RB:
Leonard Fournette: He is going up against a Saints D that gave up over a 100 yards to a converted wide receiver. He should do well.
Chubb and Hunt: Might be safe to play both each week. If the Browns do anything right, they know how to use 2 running backs well in a game.
Barkley: Is he back? Maybe, maybe not, but he might seem to be after week 2 since he is going up against a panthers D that came close to giving up 200 yards rushing to Chubb and Hunt.
WR:
Brandon Cooks: He is clearly the no 1 in Houston, and there is a good chance he will get a garbage time touchdown.
Mike Williams: He did nothing in week 1, but with Keenan Allen out, I see Herbert going to him early and often this week. A make-up game.
Jarvis Landry: Mr. Dependable. Good chance that Tampa focuses on Thomas, especially since he got two TDs, leaving Landry to do what he does. He may not light it up, but the yards will be there, and if you are in a ppr league, the rrrrs will be there.
TE:
Darren Waller: If there is any question he is not a starter every week, then you listen to me – START HIM EVERY WEEK. Well, except his bye week, you shouldn’t play him that week.
Tyler Higbee: Who else is Stafford going to throw the ball to besides Kupp? Until Robinson or someone else shows up, Higbee will get his chances.
Gerald Everett: Keenan Allen will be out and Parham is still out, so Everett is a must start against KC.
D:
Steelers: Was it rust by Burrow? Maybe, but even without Watt, they should do well against the non-potent offense in New England.
Rams: The Super Bowl Champs are probably a little upset at their showing in Week 1. Atlanta will feel the wrath of this.
Panthers/Giants: Play either one. It has the potential to be a good old-fashioned slap and tickle kind of fight.
