Reaction to Week 17: Were my sitters sittable on this next to last week of the season? Let’s take a seat and see. First off, at QB, I said to sit Sam Darnold. He ended up with 377 yards passing, 3 TDs, and a pick. I was wrong to sit him. At RB, I said to sit Brian Robinson, Jr. He got 60 yards rushing, 9 yards receiving, and nothing else. I was right to sit him. At wide out, I said to sit Jerry Jeudy who ended up with 94 yards receiving and nothing else. Pretty close. Let’s call that one a push. At tight end, I said to sit Jake Ferguson. He ended up getting 18 yards receiving and lost a fumble. I was right to sit him. Finally, for the team defenses, I said to sit the Falcons. They lost, gave up 30 points, along with 5 sacks and a pick. I was right to sit them. Alright, our last games of the season. Let’s see who is unworthy and needs to be sat this last week.
QB:
Aaron Rodgers: Bye Bye New York. It was nice for his visit. He will start, but he will not do well or finish the game against the top ranked secondary in Miami.
Kyler Murray: The floor is way more likely than the ceiling in this final game of the year for him. San Fran’s pass D is better than not. Better hope for a rushing TD (or two).
RB:
De’Von Achane: Looks like no Tua, so that means the Jets top 10 rush D will focus more on Achane, which also means he will be bottled up like last week. Not the matchup you want this final week.
Tyrone Tracy, Jr.: Doesn’t matter that he will be facing some backup Philly defenders. The Giants line will still not open it up for him consistently enough where he won’t have to share the load with Singletary. No thanks.
WR:
Davante Adams: The bust of Aaron Rodgers and now Davante Adams via trade will climax with a fizzle against the #1 pass D in the league in Miami.
Marvin Harrison, Jr.: I say his rookie year will end on a dud against a San Fran pass D that is top 5 in passing yards allowed.
TE:
Tucker Kraft: With Musgrave back and an emphasis more and more on the running game of recent, it is hard to trust him. He has a middle of the pack Bears D against tight ends. Not worth the risk.
Dalton Schultz: He might not play. Take that with the fact he faces a Titans D that is top 5 against the position makes him not worth the risk either.
D:
Vikings: Their D has been mostly solid, but they have pockets of poor play too. This final week on the road in Detroit is not one you want to rely on.
Texans: Other than pride, no reason to overt themselves since their playoff spot is set. Upset home victory for the Titans is my projection for this game.
