Reaction to Week 17: In the final week of early games, I picked a start and a sit for each of the known categories. First off, at QB, I said to start Kyler Murray, who ended up with 321 passing yards, 32 yards rushing, a TD, and 2 picks. I was wrong to start him. I then noted to sit Russell Wilson. He ended up with 205 yards passing, 55 yards rushing, a TD, and a pick. I was right to sit him. At RB, I said to start D’Andre Swift. He ended up with 53 yards rushing, 28 yards receiving, and nothing else. I was wrong to start him. I also said to sit Joe Mixon, who got 26 yards rushing, 13 yards receiving, and nothing else. So, I was right to sit him. At wide out, I said to start Xavier Worthy. He ended up with 10 yards rushing, 79 yards receiving, and a TD. I was right to start him. Then, I said to sit Cooper Kupp. He ended up with 29 yards receiving and nothing else; I was right to sit him. At tight end, I said to start Dalton Schultz. He ended up with 21 yards receiving and nothing else. I was wrong to start him. I also said to sit Hunter Henry. He ended up with 0 yards on 0 catches, so I was very right to sit him. For the team defenses, I said to start the Chargers. They won, held the Pats to 7 points, along with 4 sacks and a fumble recovery. I was right to start them. I then stated to sit the Steelers, who ended up losing, gave up 29 points, along with 5 sacks, a fumble recovery, and a pick. I was right to sit them.

Even though there are 2 early games, since they are on Saturday, we are gonna call it a wrap on the 2024 season. Let’s see how I did.

Collectively, I denoted to start someone 46 times. I was right 24 and wrong the other 22 times. Better than not. I also denoted to sit someone 35 times. I was right 20 times, wrong 14 times, and one push. Better than the starters. Boom.

Let’s break it down a bit further.

At QB, I said to start someone 4 times. I was right 2 times and wrong the other 2. I also said to sit a QB 12 times. I was right 5 times and wrong 7 times. Totally with QBs, I was right 7 out of 16 times and wrong 9 out of 16. Not good.

At RB, I said to start someone 11 times. I was right 6 times and wrong 5 times. I also said to sit a RB 8 times. I was right 5 times and wrong 3 times. Totally with RBs, I was right 11 out of 19 times and wrong 8 out of 19 times. Better.

At WR, I said to start someone 6 times. I was right 3 and wrong 3 times. I also said to sit a WR 5 times. I was right 3 times, wrong once, and 1 push. Totally with WRs, I was right 6 out of 11 times, wrong 4 out of 11 times, and 1 push out of 11. Better than not.

At TE, I said to start someone 6 times. I was right 2 times and wrong 4 times. I also said to sit a TE 5 times. I was right 4 times and wrong once. Totally with TEs, I was right 6 out of 11 times and wrong 5 out of 11 times. About the same.

For the team defenses, I said to start a team defense 8 times. I was right 5 times and wrong 3 times. I also said to sit a team defense 5 times. I was right 3 times and wrong twice. Collectively for team defenses, I was right 8 out of 13 times and wrong 5 out of 13. Okay. Okay.

Finally, I said to start a kicker 11 times. I was right 6 times and wrong 5 times. I never noted to sit a kicker, so, collectively, I was right 6 out of 11 times and wrong 5 out of 11.

Looks like I was not outstanding, but I was right more than I was not, and I was better at denoting who not to play than who to play. Well, there ya go.
