Reaction to Week 15: On this Christmas Eve Eve, let’s see if I was right regarding who was gonna be a lump of coal last week. First of all, I said to sit at QB Justin Fields and Trevor Lawerence. Fields had 166 yards passing, 30 yards rushing, a TD, and 2 picks. I was right to sit him. Lawrence had 264 yards passing, 41 yards rushing, 1 TD and 2 fumbles. I was right to sit him too. At RB, I said to sit James Conner and Travis Etienne. Etienne had 31 yards rushing, 28 yards receiving, and nothing else. I was right to sit him three. Conner had 86 yards rushing and a TD. I was wrong to sit him. For the wide outs, I said to sit Chris Godwin and Drake London. In his game, Godwin had 155 yards receiving and nothing else. Well, that is still good enough, thereby making me wrong to sit him. London, meanwhile, got 24 yards receiving and nothing else, so I was right to sit him. For the tight ends, I said to sit Dalton Schultz and Kyle Pitts. Pitts got 37 yards receiving and nothing else. I was right to sit him too. Schultz got 58 yards and nothing else as well, so I was right to sit him three. On the team defenses, I said to sit the Patriots and Jets. The Patriots lost, gave up 27 points, and had 3 sacks and 2 picks. I was right to sit them four. The Jets also lost, gave up 30 points, and had 3 sacks. I was right to sit them five. Not too shabby.
Week 16 brings us broken and battered. Let’s see who is left to play and bench them anyway.
QB:
Jordan Love: He is on the road against the Panthers, who are #2 in the league against the pass. Hope you don’t need him to shine.
Lamar Jackson: Not now, right? Oh, yes now. On the road against San Fran, a team that has the most picks and are tied for 2nd in least passing TDs allowed. Sorry playoff teams.
RB:
James Conner: He has had 2 solid games of recent, but this week he has a Bears D that has given up the least amount of rushing yards.
Ty Chandler: He had a massive game this past week. He has a top 10 rush D this week in the Lions. Not exactly the best follow up matchup to a big game.
WR:
Terry McLaurin: He is also coming off a tremendous game. He will be going up against a stout Jets passing D. Don’t assume replication.
Davante Adams: He was held to less than 75 yards the last time out against the Chiefs. Expect them to hone in on him again and make others beat them in the air.
TE:
Dallas Goedert: He hasn’t really done much recently, but neither have the Eagles as a team. Burn! He is going up against a Giants D that has actually done better against tight ends than wide receivers.
Dalton Schultz: No matter who is QBing this game for the Texans, it is not a good matchup for him. He will be going up against a Browns D that is #1 in the league against the position.
Defense:
Vikings: Good D vs a very good offense. Looks like Detroit wins because they have an adverb. So, English says the Lions win. Bench your Vikings D.
Ravens or 49ers: Which one should be benched? Got to pick one. I pick the Ravens to bench. The game is at San Fran, and San Fran has a much more talented offense for the opposing D to deal with. Bench the birds.
