Reaction to Week 14: Alright, the last of the bye weeks is behind us so it will be blue skies from here on out right? Wait! Let’s back up a bit and see how I did last week on who to start. First of all, at QB, I said to start Russell Wilson and the Browns QB, which ended up being Joe Flacco. He got 311 yards passing along with 3 TDs and 2 TOs. I was right to start him. Wilson got 224 yards passing along with 2 TDs and a pick in his game. About as projected, so a push here. For the RBs, I said to start Ekeler and whoever starts out of Aaron Jones and A. J. Dillon. In his game, Ekeler got 51 yards rushing, 49 yards receiving, and a score making me right to start him. In their game, Dillon got the nod, and he ended up with 53 yards rushing and that is it. I was wrong to start him. For the wide outs, I said to start Brandin Cooks and Amari Cooper. Cooper got 77 yards and lost a fumble, so I was wrong to start him. Meanwhile, Cooks got 37 yards and nothing else so I ended up being wrong to start him too. For the other pass catchers, I said to start Isaiah Likely and Gerald Everett. In his game, Likely got 83 yards and a TD. I was right to start him. Everett, on the other hand, got 39 yards and nothing else. I was wrong to start him. For the team defenses, I said to start the Saints and the Browns. The Saints got the W, held the Panthers to 6 points along with 4 sacks and 2 fumble recoveries. I was right to start them. The Browns ended up with a W as well, gave up 27 points, but also had a fumble recovery 3 picks and 4 sacks. I was right to start them too.
Week 15 brings all the boys back to the yard, and their like. Anyway, let’s see who to start for the guys playing on Sunday and Monday.
QB:
Jordan Love: He is up against the Bucs, a team that has given up the 2nd most passing yards this year. Love the match-up. Light ‘em up.
Geno Smith: At home against an Eagles D that is reeling, has given up the 2nd most passing TDs, and are bottom 5 in passing yards allowed too. There are signs everywhere.
RB:
Rachaad White: He has a Packer rushing D that has given up the 2nd most rushing yards this year. Enough said.
Najee Harris: It seems he is a bit better while Warren is a bit worse, statistically speaking, in the post-Canada era. He is going up against a Colts team that has given up the 2nd most rushing TDs and are bottom 10 in rushing yards allowed.
WR:
Odell Beckham, Jr.: He is going up against a Jags team that has given up the 3rd most passing yards and are tied for 5th in the most passing TDs allowed. I think he will germinate more than Flowers this week.
Cooper Kupp: No longer a given weekly starter, Kupp has a chance this week. He is going up against a Washington team that has given up the most passing TDs and the 4th most passing yards so far this year. As good as he once was?
TE:
Logan Thomas: He is going up against a Rams D that is among the worst in the league against his position. Last week they gave up a 50 plus yard TD to a TE. Back to back?
Chigoziem Okonkwo: Levis likes him – like likes him likes him. This week they are going up against a Texans D that is in the bottom of most categories against the tight end position.
Defense:
Atlanta: I don’t usually recommend this D, being all average and stuff, but this week, I definitely recommend them since they have the draw against the lowly Panthers.
New Orleans: Let’s stay in that division and go with the Saints. They have been a match up dependent D this year, and since I am not buying stock in the Giants, I say they keep the Giants in their place.
