Reaction to Week 14: Our final mega bye week is done. Did your regular folks who you sat do as instructed? Did I do as instructed? Let’s see. First off, at QB, I said to sit Bryce Young and Brock Purdy. Young ended up with 191 yards passing, 29 yards rushing, a TD, and a pick. I was right to sit him. Purdy got 325 yards passing, 11 yards rushing, and 2 TDs. I was wrong to sit him. For the RBs, I said to sit Aaron Jones and Najee Harris. Jones got 73 yards rushing, 11 yards receiving, and a TD. I was wrong to sit him. Harris had 53 yards rushing and a TD, so I was wrong to sit him too. For the wide outs, I said to sit D. K. Metcalf and Cooper Kupp. Metcalf ended up with 49 yards receiving and nothing else making me right to sit him. Kupp got 92 yards receiving and a TD, so I was wrong to sit him. At tight end, I said to sit Evan Engram and the Saints tight ends. Engram ended up with 33 yards receiving and nothing else making me right to sit him. Juwan Johnson of the Saints got 50 yards receiving and a TD so I was wrong to sit the Saints TEs. For the team defenses, I said to sit the Jets and Chargers. The Jets lost, gave up 32 points, along with nothing else. I was right to sit them. The Chargers also lost, gave up only 19 points, along with 3 sacks. Not quite there, so I was right to sit them too. We are in the home stretch. Let’s see what week 15 has in store for us for the sitting kind.

QB:

Baker Mayfield: His numbers of recent have been less compared to the first half of the season. Plus, he faces a top 10 pass D in the Chargers on the road. Not an ideal matchup.

Geno Smith: He has been mediocre of recent and this week he faces a top 10 Packer D across the board against the pass. If you have a better option, play them.

RB:

Jonathan Taylor: He has not come through of recent, and this week, he has a top 10 rush D in Denver. Not the matchup you want.

D’Andre Swift: He was held back the last time out against Minnesota. Expect more of the same this time around too.

WR:

Tank Dell: They face a top pass D in Miami this week. Not much to go around, so he will probably not get his, while Collins still will.

Devonta Smith: No consistent numbers, a week after A. J. Brown complains about wanting more, and a top flight pass Steelers D. These do not add up.

TE:

Cade Otton: He faces a Chargers D that is top 7 in the league against the position. Not the matchup you want when all teams are available.

Buffalo TEs: They face a Lions pass D that is number 1 in the league against the position. I wouldn’t start either Kincaid or Knox. Not a good matchup here either.

D:

Steelers: On the road against an Eagles team that is solid all around. In the battle for Pennsylvania bragging rights, the home team will win.

Dolphins: On the road against a potent Texans offense. Don’t think Miami’s D will be able to hold the Texans down at home.
