Reaction to Week 14: Okay, it was our last bye week of the season. Let’s see who was noted to sit even though. First of all, at QB, I said to sit Matt Stafford and the Jags QBs, which ended up being Lawrence. He put up 257 yards passing, 11 yards rushing, 3 TDs, and 3 picks. These numbers put him just over the projected amount, thereby making me wrong to sit him. Stafford did even better putting up 294 yards in the air and 3 scores making me wrong to sit him too. At RB, I said to sit Tony Pollard and all Seattle RBs. For the latter, neither one did much, producing about the same. Walker got 54 total yards and Charbonnet got 48 total yards with neither one getting a score. I was right to sit them both. In his game, Pollard got 59 yards rushing, 37 yards receiving, and nothing else. I was right to sit him too. For the wide outs, I said to sit Nico Collins and Devonte Smith. Collins had only 1 catch for 13 yards and nothing else so I was right to him. Smith had 73 yards and a fumble so I was right to sit him too. On the tight ends, I said to sit Evan Engram and Cole Kmet. Engram has apparently broken the seal for he had 95 yards receiving and 2 TDs making me wrong to sit him. Kmet had 66 yards receiving but nothing else so I was right to sit him. For the team defenses, I said to sit the Giants and the Cowboys. The Cowboys ended up with the W, holding Philly to 13 points, along with 3 fumble recoveries and a sack. I was wrong to sit them. The Giants got the W, held the Pack to 22 points, along with 2 fumble recoveries, 2 sacks, and a pick. I was wrong to sit them too.
Week 15 brings us back to normal, well, actually, not really since there were 3 games on Saturday in addition to the Thursday game. With those as part of the special edition, let’s see who to sit as part of the Sunday and Monday night games.
QB:
Justin Fields: The Browns are #1 against the pass. Fields’ legs will need to bail him out. Oh wait. The Browns are good against the run too.
Trevor Lawrence: The Ravens have given up the least amount of passing TDs so far this year, and they get lots of sacks. Not great odds.
RB:
James Conner: He has the 9ers, who have given up the least amount of rushing yards and are 3rd in least amount of rushing TDs allowed.
Travis Etienne: He has the Ravens, who have given up the least amount of rushing TDs. Volume won’t be there for him to make up for this deficiency.
WR:
Chris Godwin: He is up against a solid Packer D. Evans will probably get his so that means Godwin won’t.
Drake London: He is against the Panthers, who are bad against the run and good against the pass. The Falcons will have a serious case of the runs.
TE:
Dalton Schultz: He is going up against a Titans D that hasn’t allowed a TD to a TE yet. Due or predicted? Not worth the risk.
Kyle Pitts: As noted, Carolina has been good against the pass this year. There will be no volume of passing yards in the air for the Falcons. You better hope for a little cheap TD.
Defense:
Patriots: Yes, they are playing really well right now, but I do not trust their offense to do enough to overtake the Chiefs, or get enough extras to compensate for the L they will receive.
Jets: Let’s keep it in the division and sit the Jets too. I also don’t think they have enough firepower either to overcome their opponent, who happens to be in the east, the Dolphins.
