Reaction to Week 13: Was 13 lucky for you? Did you have a happy holiday? Let’s see if my sitters were happy on the bench. First off, at QB, I said to sit Geno Smith and SF QBs. Smith ended up with 206 yards passing and 1 TD. I was right to sit him. Purdy got the start in San Fran and got a whopping 94 yards passing in the snow and lost a fumble. I was right to sit him too. For the RBs, I said to sit Bijan Robinson and James Conner. Robinson ended up with 102 yards rushing, 33 yards receiving, and a TD. I was wrong to sit him. Conner had 68 yards rushing, 13 yards receiving, and nothing else. I was right to sit him. At wide out, I said to sit D. K. Metcalf and Jerry Jeudy. Metcalf ended up with 66 yards receiving and nothing else. I was right to sit him. Jeudy, meanwhile, had the game of his career with 235 yards receiving and a TD. I was wrong to sit him. For the tight ends, I said to sit T. J. Hockenson and Mark Andrews. Hock ended up with 28 yards receiving and nothing else. I was right to sit him. Andrews got 67 yards receiving and a TD. I was wrong to sit him. For the team defenses, I said to sit the state of Pennsylvania. The Steelers ended up winning, gave up 38 points, along with 2 fumble recoveries, 4 sacks, a pick, and a defensive score. I was wrong to sit them. The Eagles also won, gave up only 19 points, along with 3 sacks. I was wrong to sit them too. You are welcome Pennsylvania for the anti-jinx jinx. Okay, let’s get into Mega Bye Week #2.
QB:
Brock Purdy: Keep him benched against Chicago for their pass D has given up the 3rd fewest passing TDs so far. I think he is regressing.
Bryce Young: He has done well, stat-wise, recently, but this will change as he takes on the Eagles D this week. Back to life. Back to reality.
RB:
Aaron Jones: He has not done much recently, and this week he takes on a top 10 rush D in Atlanta. Sitting time. You don’t have to go home. You just won’t be able to rush here.
Najee Harris: He had his worst fantasy game of the season so far the last time out against Cleveland. Not the matchup you want this week.
WR:
D. K. Metcalf: Keep him benched against the Cards this week. He is wounded, and the last time these 2 teams played he had one of his worst games of the year as well. Not a good matchup for him either.
Cooper Kupp: He is clearly 3rd fiddle behind Pacua and Williams, and when you play against a top 3 pass D, the options will be limited. Others may get there’s, but he will not.
TE:
Evan Engram: Better hope for a cheap 2 yard touchdown because the yards will not be there against a top 10 pass D against tight ends in the Titans.
Saints tight ends: While the Giants are not good, I have pointed out in previous weeks that they have been good against this position. Johnson and Moreau will both get more looks with Hill out, but it will be for naught for both.
D:
Jets: Their D isn’t too bad; it is just that their offense has been (bad). I trust Miami’s O and D combo more than I do than the Jets’.
Chargers: A good D with a bad matchup. They are on the road against a nemesis in Kansas City. I just don’t see the upset happening here. I hope it does, but I just don’t see it happening.
