Reaction to Week 12: How did Mega Bye Week #1 treat you? Did your starters/sub-starters squeak you by? Let’s see how my starters squeaked. First off, at QB, I said to start Bo Nix and Patrick Mahomes. In his game, Mahomes ended up with 269 yards passing, 60 yards rushing, and 3 TDs. Stats like the Mahomes of old. I was right to start him. Nix ended up with 273 yards passing and 2 TDs, so I was right to start him too. At RB, I said to start Brian Robinson, Jr. and Rico Dowdle. In their game, Dowdle got 86 yards rushing, 12 yards receiving, and lost a fumble. I was wrong to start him. Robinson was worse with only 13 yards rushing, 11 yards receiving, and nothing else, thereby, making me wrong to start him too. At wideout, I said to start Josh Downs and Ladd McConkey. Downs only got 27 yards receiving and nothing else, so I was wrong to start him. Meanwhile, McConkey got 83 receiving yards and nothing else, thereby making me wrong to start him too. At tight end, I said to start Zach Ertz and Will Dissly. Ertz ended up with 38 receiving yards and a TD making me right to start him. While Dissly got more receiving yards, 47, but he did not get a TD so I was wrong to start him. For the team defenses, I said to start the Buccaneers and the Commanders. The Bucs won, held the Giants to 7 points, along with a fumble recovery and 4 sacks. I was right to start them. The Commanders somehow lost to the Cowboys giving up 34 points to them, along with a fumble recovery, and a sack. I was wrong to start them. Okay, time for lucky number 13.
QB:
Matt Stafford: I was wrong to sit him last week, but I will not make the same mistake this week as he faces a Saints D who has surrendered the 3rd most passing yards so far.
C. J. Stroud: He has not been good, statistically speaking, of recent, but he has a Jags D with whom he has had his best fantasy game of the year so far, when they played earlier this year.
RB:
Bucky Irving: He is going up against a Carolina rush D that is last in the league. Even though splitting time with other RBs, he should still get plenty of opportunities to produce.
Christian McCaffrey: No, he has not provided McCaffrey-like stats so far, but don’t overthink this one as he faces a Buffalo team that is much better against the pass than the run. Bottom 10 against the run that is.
WR:
Marvin Harrison, Jr.: He faces a bottom 3 pass D in Minnesota. The opportunities to produce should be there.
Quentin Johnston: Call it a hunch, but I say he comes back from his case of the dropsies last week. He has a beatable Falcons D that is bottom 5 against the pass.
TE:
Taysom Hill: He has been producing in various ways, and this week he has a Rams team that is bottom 10 against the tight end position. He will get the stats, who knows from where, but that does not matter.
Cade Otton: I’ve been benching him, but it is time to suit him back up as he takes on a Carolina team that is statistically worst in the league against the tight end position.
D:
Bucs: I know Carolina almost pulled off the upset against KC this past week, but I am not buying it. I say Tamp comes in town and hands them another loss.
Texans: I know they just got beat by lowly Tennessee, but I am not buying this one either. I say they get back on the winning side with a road victory against the Jags.
