Before we get into Week 13’s Starters, let’s see what Lamar got right and what Lamar got wrong with the starters from week 12.
QB: Looks like Lamar got Carr and Smith right, but barely for each, statistically they were just above average. Meanwhile, he was wrong to start Heinicke who ended up well below average on his stat line.
RB: The best Lamar did on this topic was a push with Jamaal Williams who was average due to his fumble. He was wrong to start Pierce and Pollard. Neither one did much of anything, Pollard did just a little more.
WR: Lamar was right to start St. Brown who did well against Buffalo. He was wrong to start Allen Robinson though since he didn’t even play. Been there. Done that. He was wrong to start McLauren too, but for output purposes, or the lack thereof, not did not play purposes.
TE: Lamar was way off on this whole group. Not one of them should have been started. None had a TD and Kmet had 27 yards, Dulcich had 11 yards, and Higbee didn’t even get a catch. This was a stinker.
D: With a shut out, 2 fumble recoveries and a sack, Lamar was sickeningly right to start the 49ers D. He was also right to start the Washington D who got the W, allowed only 13 points, and had an INT and a sack too. However, he was wrong to start the Denver D who got the L, gave up 23 points, and not much else. Not bad Lamar. Not bad.
Let us see who is left and available to possibly put in your starting lineup for this week.
QB:
Kenny Kenny Kenny: Atlanta has given up the most passing yards so far this year. Could this be Kenny Pickett’s first multi TD passing game? Maybe?
Mike White: He had a solid first game, and he has Minnesota this week, a team who has given up the 2nd most passing yards so far this season. Roll the dice.
Jared Goff: He is going up against a Jags D that is vulnerable. He is not the best choice, but if you are stuck, then why not? This is fantasy football and anything is possible.
RB:
Travis Etienne: The Lions are in a tie for the 2nd worst yard per carry so far. They also have given up the 2nd most rushing TDs so far this year. This is a recipe for Etienne’s success.
Brian Robinson: I say he stays hot and gets the bulk of the carries again this week against the Giants who are tied for 2nd in worst yards per carry against.
Dameon Pierce: Two horrible games in a row does not breed much confidence in playing him, but he is going up against a Browns team that has given up the 3rd most rushing TDs and are toward the bottom in yards per carry too.
WR:
Devonta Smith: Tennessee is better against the run, and they will try and shut down their former teammate A. J. Brown, thereby leaving Smith the opportunity to shine.
Zay Jones: Trevor is beginning to like him just as much as he likes Kirk. He is going up against the Lions who are at the bottom of the league in pass defense.
Keenan Allen: He has been hurt and out of your starting line-up. Time to put him back in against a Raiders D that gives it up. He could possibly get his first 100 yard of the year.
TE:
Dalton Schultz: If you gave up on him, time to put him back in your starting lineup. It doesn’t matter who he plays. Put him back in and leave him there.
Tyler Conklin: Minnesota’s D is below average against tight ends. He is worth the risk if you need a sub this week.
Evan Engram: Detroit is at the bottom of the league against TEs. If you are desperate, give him a whirl.
D:
Steelers: Watt is back. Even though he did not do anything against the Colts this past week, especially since he did not do anything against the Colts, he could help wreak some havoc. The D is just better with him.
Commanders: Their D has played well recently, and I trust them more than I trust the Giants O.
Seattle: Other than looking bad against the Raiders last week, they had played well of recent. The Rams are a shell of themselves and with their poor offense, the Seattle D will have opportunities to look good.
