Reaction to Week 12: Mega Bye Week #1 – check. Sitting the right people even though the sub-options were slim pickings – check on that right now. First off, at QB, I said to sit Matt Stafford and Sam Darnold. Darnold ended up with 330 yards passing and 2 TDs. I was wrong to sit him. Stafford, meanwhile, got 243 yards passing, 15 yards rushing, and 2 TDs. I was wrong to sit him too. At RB, I said to sit Chuba Hubbard and Jonathan Taylor. Hubbard ended up with only 58 yards rushing, but he got a TD so I was wrong to sit him. Taylor did worse with only 35 yards rushing and nothing else, so I was right to sit him. At wideout, I said to sit Cooper Kupp and Tank Dell. In his game, Dell got 72 yards receiving and nothing else. Not quite good enough so I was right to sit him. Along with his garbage time TD, Kupp also had 60 yards receiving; therefore, I was wrong to sit him. For the tight ends, I said to sit Cade Otton and Mark Andrews. Otton ended up with only 30 yards receiving and nothing else, so I was right to sit him. In his game, Andrews managed 44 receiving yards and a TD making me wrong to sit him. For the team defenses, I said to sit the Bears and the 49ers. The Bears lost, gave up 30 points, along with a fumble recovery and 3 sacks. I was right to sit them. The 49ers also lost, gave up 38 points, along with only 2 sacks. I was right to sit them too. Okay, time to jump into week 13.
QB:
Geno Smith: He has a tough matchup versus the Jets, who have a D that is #2 against the pass to this point. Not a good matchup this week with all QBs available.
San Francisco QBs: Whoever ends up starting, Purdy or Allen, bench them. They face a Bills pass D on the road that is top 10 against the position.
RB:
Bijan Robinson: Yes, the Chargers just got run up on by Derrick Henry last week, but Robinson is no Derrick Henry, and the Chargers #2 rush D in the league will show up against him.
James Conner: He is going up against a Vikings rush D that is top 3 in the league against the position. Not the matchup you want with no teams on bye.
WR:
D. K. Metcalf: He is taking on a top 3 pass D in the Jets. Take this, along with the fact he is a little banged up, not the player you want to produce. Hope you have another, better option.
Jerry Jeudy: He has a tough matchup this week in Denver, a team that has given up the 2nd fewest fantasy points to wide receivers so far this season. Got another option here too?
TE:
Mark Andrews: I failed to sit him last week, maybe I was just off by a week. He has a Philly D that is top 3 against the position.
T. J. Hockenson: He is producing, statistically speaking, every other game since he returned from injury. Well, that means, against a top 5 team in Arizona against the position, he should not produce this week.
D:
Steelers: On the road. Division rival. High powered offense. Sounds like back to back losses for this team.
Eagles: On the road. Not a division rival. High powered offense. Iām smelling a loss for the Eagles this week too. Sorry Pennsylvania, but this will not be a good Thanksgiving week of football for you guys.
