Before we get into Week 11’s Starters, let’s see what I got right and what I got wrong with the starters from week 10.
QB: This Fields is on fire. They got the loss, but he got the stats. I hope you were riding him. I was right telling you to do so. Brissett was slightly below average on his statistical output, so I was wrong to start him. Meanwhile – if I had updated my article I would have removed Stafford from the start column, but I didn’t so I am not right. I hope you ignored my advice and noticed that big O next to his name and put somebody else in. If you did not, then that is on you, not me.
RB: Fournette did just enough before getting hurt with 57 yards and a TD to make me right about him. He would have had more otherwise making me more right. The Lions gave up 2 rushing TDs, but not one to a running back. So, with only 37 yards rushing, I was wrong to start Montgomery. I told you Jeff Wilson would see some action, and while he did not have a load of touches, he produced with those he did have. With 119 yards and a TD, I was right to start him.
WR: The Steelers D played well holding Olave to just 40 yards with no TD, so I was happily wrong noting to start him. While Marshall led the Panthers in receiving yards and with a 40% share, he only had 43 yards with no TD, so I was wrong about starting him, too. Similarly, A Rob led the Rams in receiving yards, but he only had 44 yards and no TD. Maybe with Kupp out, he might now get his.
TE: Looks like Pitts is still in the pitts. I was wrong to start him. Maybe he invited Dulcich over to his pity party for he did nothing this past week too, so I was wrong to start him as well. Good god. Engram must have been invited to the party too in order to complete their triangle for he got nothing regular or garbage affiliated. Glad I wasn’t invited to that party.
D: Seattle got 2 picks but gave up 21 points, got the loss, and nothing else, so I was wrong to start them this week. I was also wrong in picking the Saints D to start over the Steelers D. Oops. I feel so bad. And finally, there is the Raiders. Maybe there is never a good time to start this D. Maybe. Just maybe.
We are on the backside of bye week season. Time to figure who is left and available to possibly put in your starting lineup for this week.
QB:
Jimmy G – Zona is 3rd from the bottom in pass D. He should statistically do well.
Rodgers – I say he has his first 300 yard game of the year this week against a Titans D that has been known to give up some yards.
Daniel Jones – He doesn’t make mistakes, and Detroit is at the bottom of the league in pass defense. He may not light it up, but if you need a solid score, he’s your man.
RB:
Cordarrelle Patterson: Put him back in. The Bears are giving up the most rushing TDs in the league so far, and they are at the bottom of the tables in rushing yards against, too.
Brian Robinson: Put him back in. Houston has given up the most rushing yards so far this year. Could be his best statistical game of the year.
Gus Edwards: Gus. Gus. Or Kenyan Drake. Really whoever is the starting RB for Ball-more. Carolina is at the bottom on rush defense, and the Ravens could go up big early, thus control the game with, you guessed it, the run game.
WR:
Allen Robinson: It is not my fault Kupp got hurt. I only called him a ball hog. I did not put any voodoo on the guy, or did I? Anyway, with Kupp out of the way, A-Rob could shine against an average Saints passing D.
Tee and Tyler: The pair of Bengal receivers could both go over 100 yards against Pittsburgh, which has been more susceptible against the pass than the run this year.
Claypool: Speaking of Steelers, oh wait a minute. I say this will be his best game as a Bear so far. Over 50 yards and a score against Hot Lanta.
TE:
Freiermuth: He had a tough match up this past week, so I expect a bounce back game against the Kitty Cats.
Dulcich: Speaking of bounce back games, I expect one from Dulcich too against the Raiders and their “defense.”
Conklin: He had 79 yards and 2 TDs against New England the first time they played. Two schools of thought: 1.) no way Belichick lets that happen again, or 2.) he matches up well against them so he can do it again. I am going with the latter.
D:
Especially if Stafford doesn’t play, probably even if he does, I expect a solid game by the Saints D. A better one than they had against Pittsburgh this past week.
I expect the Pack to stifle Henry and make Tannehill beat them. And since he can’t, the Packers are a good play on D this week.
Finally the Raiders. Yes the Raiders. I am going to get this right one week, and this is the time. You can do it.
