Reaction to Week 10: Last week was stick and stone week. Stick and stone. Let’s see if my sitters were sticks or stones. First off, at QB, I said to sit Zach Wilson and Jordan Love. Love had 289 yards passing, 2 TDs, and 2 turnovers. These numbers are about average, so a push here. In his game, Wilson had 263 yards passing, 54 yards rushing, and a pick. Not good fantasy numbers. I was right to sit him. For the RBs, I said to sit Jerome Ford and Gus Edwards. Ford had 107 yards rushing, 2 yards receiving, and nothing else. Below his projected output, so I was right to sit him. Edwards only had 24 yards rushing and 4 yards receiving, but he got a TD, which put him just over his projected output, thereby making me wrong to sit him. For the wide outs, I said to sit Jakobi Meyers and Amari Cooper. Cooper had 98 yards and nothing else. Also numbers just over his projected output making me wrong to sit him too. Meyers had 21 yards receiving and nothing else. That’s more like it. I was right to sit him. For the tight ends, I said to sit Evan Engram and Jake Ferguson. In his game, Engram had 12 yards receiving and nothing else, so I was right to sit him. Ferguson, meanwhile, only got 26 yards receiving, but he also got a TD, so I was wrong to sit him. On the team defenses, I said to sit the Falcons and the Ravens. The Ravens got the L, gave up 33 points, got 4 sacks, an INT, and a defensive score. The defensive score and the rest of the extras make it close – a push here. The Falcons also lost, gave up 25 points, along with 2 sacks and a pick. This is better; I was right to sit them. Alright, now that that is done, let’s see what is in store for us on the double crooked-less number week.
Week 11:
QB:
Geno Smith: Mr. Boom or Bust. He did poorly against the Rams in Week 1, and their pass defense is still solid. Back to the bench sir
Baker Mayfield: Not a good sub option for him this week. He has San Fran whose defense has the most INTs and are top 5 in least passing TDs allowed. Not numbers you want to see when looking for a sub option.
RB:
David Montgomery: The Lions face the Bears, a team who has a top 5 D in rushing yards allowed, are #1 in ypc, and are tied for 2nd in least rushing yards allowed. I say sit Montgomery over Gibbs, maybe both if you have decent backups.
All Bears RBs: Let’s stay in this game. The Lions also have a solid run D – #2 in rushing yards allowed and top in ypc. I wouldn’t trust any Bears RB to shine in this game.
WR:
George Pickens: He lit up the Browns the last time they played, but the Steelers were without Diontae Johnson in that game. Cleveland still has a solid pass D. I believe Pickett will still get Johnson his volume, but the big money ball will not be there for Pickens.
Dallas WRs not named a baby animal: He will get his, so the rest are matchup dependent. This week the Cowboys have the Panthers, a team that has been solid against the pass. Could be another week where the cow pokes go up early, then they milk the rest of the game with little passes and running backs, thereby leaving out the other wide outs.
TE:
Evan Engram: I was right to sit him last week, and I will be right to sit him this week too. He has the Titans who are top 3 against the position. Keep him benched.
Dalton Schultz: The Cards have held tight ends to low yardage so far this year. Better hope he gets a TD for the yardage won’t be there. If you have a better option at the position, use it this week.
Defense:
Packers: They have been a solid D so far this season. This week they have the Chargers who can light it up. This game has the potential to be high scoring affair.
Raiders: They have played the Giants and Jets offenses the last 2 weeks. Their true colors under Antonio Pierce will shine this week, and those colors will be teal and orange. Don’t buy the hype – just yet.
