Cock-a-doodle-doo! It is fantasy football rooster time. Our 3rd year of bringing in da funk. Last year, my lowest percentage of being right regarding whom to sit was for team defenses, where I was right to sit them only about 47% of the time. Meanwhile, I was best at picking which tight ends to sit about 69% of the time. Damn, this dude knows his @#$% pretty well. I should read more and follow him on X at Brooksie@fantasyrooster1. Well, there is still room for improvements so let us get er going and get er done on whom to sit for week one’s weekend games.
QB:
Dak Prescott – Besides just not liking the Cowpokes – their fans are the worst, right? – he starts the season in Cleveland against a top 5 D from last year.
Deshaun Watson – Speaking of Cleveland, Watson is just not as good as some think, or definitely not what he was or could have been. He has a tough matchup in a top 10 D in Dallas too. This might be one of those slap and tickle fights.
RB:
James Conner – Better hope for volume and a sneaky TD. He is just not that dynamic, plus he has a rookie in Benson breathing down his neck.
Brian Robinson and Austin Ekeler: You really do not know how this will break down. Plus, they have a QB in Daniels who liked to run in college. He will probably end up with more rushing TDs this year than these two guys.
WR:
Stefon Diggs – Need to see if the chemistry with Stroud will be there. Lots of mouths to feed on the receiving end here. It might be a situation where a different person shines each week. So, good luck there.
Brandon Aiyuk – A contract extension, limited practice time, and a tough and talented Jets passing D does not equal fantasy glory.
TE:
Jake Ferguson – Cleveland was the best team against tight ends last year. Until they show vulnerability here, I will assume they will be good again this year.
David Njoku – Just like at the QB position, I will stay in this game. Dallas was also good against tight ends last year, top 5. I shall assume for them too.
D:
Bills: They had a lot of changes on D (and O), and the Cards played well the 2nd half of the year and added a talented wide out in Harrison. This game just feels like a slip up for Buffalo in week 1.
Titans: On the road against a revamped Bears offense with a highly talented rookie QB. I say he shows up in this game and looks better than a rookie and starts off with a solid W against the Titans.
