Before we get into Week 5’s Starters, let’s see what i got right and what i got wrong with the starters from week 4.
QB: I was right about Burrow thanks to the late TD; it put him over his projected output so take that you naysayers. I was wrong about playing a Saints QB. And, while i was right about the Raiders first win, i was wrong about Carr being the reason why.
RB: Did you keep Ekeler on the bench? Are you pulling your hair because of his 3 TDS? I hope you did not and you listened to me, because I was SO right. And did you play a Jets RB? Did you guess the right one to play? I hope so because i was right, right here too. And then there is Penny. Another big ole right by me. He torched.
WR: I told you one of the bengals not named Chase was going to go over 100 with a TD. I told you to guess here. I hope it was obvious and, if you had Higgins you played him because i was right on. While D. J. Moore did have one of his best games, it was still not statistically a great one, so i will take my lumps here. And then there is Gabe Davis. Ugh. I guess the Ravens still do know how to play defense, sometimes.
TE: Looks like i was wrong about Gesicki. I guess I put him in the wrong article. I was also mostly wrong about Juwan Johnson. He got some yards, but still not good enough to be right. And on Conklin, i am saying a push. He got 50 plus yards. He could have, and should have gotten more.
D: I wish I wasn’t, but i was right about the Jets: a win, 4 ints and 3 sacks. I was right about the Chargers too: a win, 4 snacks and 2 ints. Then there was the latest slap tickle match of the Giants. I was right about the Giants with their win, 6 sacks, and 3 forced fumbles. While i was right about the giants, i was wrong about Chicago. They lost and had less extras than the Giants so i lost with them. But by losing to the Giants, the Bears are our latest slap and tickle champs.
With that out of the way, let’s get into this week’s games and who should be in your starting lineup.
QB:
Winston/Dalton: I tried to help them shine by promoting them in London. Good thing those games over there do not count – international law. Trust me. I have stayed at a Holiday Inn or two in my lifetime. The Saints are going up against a porous D in Seattle. Whoever starts should do well, at least statistically.
Carr: I have tried and failed with this guy before. He has seemed to do well against KC, and he will do so again, even if it’s just playing a little catch up, thereby getting you a cheap TD or two.
Wentz: He has had some games so far this year, and he is going up against a Tennessee defense that has been one of the worst against the pass so far this year. Play him.
RB:
James Robinson: I was right to bench him last week, and i will be equally right to put him back in your starting lineup this week. Statistically, he is going up against the worst running defense in the league.
Have you benched Devin Singletary? If so, put him in against Pittsburgh. They still give up yards, and big play runs to running backs too.
Harris/Stevenson: The Lions defense has been worse than bad so far this year. These guys could pull off a Chubb Hunt kind of a game.
WR:
Chris Olave: Thomas is still banged up and Landry is sporadic. Olave had a good game this past one. I am not sure if he is an every week guy, but he is a this week kind of a guy for sure against Seattle’s defense.
Amari Cooper: How does a number one wide receiver manage only 9 receiving yards? If you benched him, you were smart. Now be smarter and put him back in against the Chargers.
Robert Woods: The Redski, er I mean Commanders, have the worse pass defense in the league. He should do well. He should.
TE:
If you have Ertz, at this point, you are probably committed to starting him every week. He is going up against his former team. This could go either way. I say boom goes the dynamite.
I know a lot of you have given up and cut and/or benched Knox. Time to put him back in your line-up. The Steelers have been susceptible to tight ends. I expect a big game from him.
Hockensen: Fantasy folklore says, if a guy has a huge game, then the yin and yang will come out and put them in their place at the next game. Do not be afraid to play him again this week. The Pats have given up a TD to a tight end each of the last 3 weeks. No reason the high powered Lions offense (that can’t be right – somebody check that out) can’t get him another TD or two this week too.
D:
Vikings: They are going up against the Bears. Need I say more?
Bucs: I say, after giving up over 40 to KC, they will bounce back and bring down the hammer against Hot Lanta.
Jags: They should also be back to their winning ways after getting smoked this past week. The Texans offense isn’t bad, but this is a game the Jags could dominate.
